Swim Wild Canada, which was officially born in September 2013, is a grassroots movement that advocates for the rights and freedoms of wild and captive whales, dolphins, and porpoises.

It is involved in the battle against the inhumane practices at Marineland (Ontario) and SeaWorld (worldwide). It supports Ric OBarry's Dolphin Project, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS), as well as the incredible work done by Dr. Ingrid Visser and the Orca Research Trust.

One may ask, "What does this have to do with healing?"

And my answer is, "Everything."

It is one of my core beliefs that the health of our planet is inextricably linked to the health of its people (and vice-versa).

It is impossible for me to be an advocate for human wellness without also being an advocate for the wellness of our Great Mother Earth and all of her beings. The two are inseparable.

It is in this spirit of interconnectedness that I aspire to live my life, raise my children, and practice my medicine. My deepest hope is to leave this planet a bit greener, a bit kinder, and a bit brighter than it was when I got here.
